Blazing Fast Legal Translation Tool in the EU
After quite some internal rework, we have an up-to-date database with 10 languages supported.

It was quite some work to make the system work again. This time built as a SaaS for the web. Many things changed, but some stayed, so we could leverage our existing knowledge.
It was a large revamp, but finally it started to show signs of life!

Written in Python, it featured a search bar with a two-column display below. Just what you would expect for a dictionary.
It didn't have data storage on its own, but reached out to the Eur-Lex servers through HTTP, replicating the manual flow from the UI.
It was a pretty slow flow, so it still took a while to gather the results, but at least the human part of clicking was spared. Cut down research time from ~10 minutes per search to a few minutes.

My now-wife spent lots of time using online tools not tuned for the task of retrieving exact matches for legal text. I saw an opportunity to automate some of the work.
It worked reasonably well, but then we switched jobs and countries, and put this project to rest. Now 10 years later the problem is still relevant, so we are back on the case.
