Scenes Studio
A distraction-free screenwriting app
I didn't get an MVP built this month, like I had hoped to, but I did make a lot of progress. The screenplay editor is working with auto-formatting and the ability to collapse scenes (which is what I was working on when I gave up the original project).
I also have login with google working, and auto-saving screenplays to the cloud. My goals for this month are to get the index card view working, scene header navigation, add save/close buttons to the editor, collect title page information, finish document printing, then setup subscription payments and launch it.
Today I decided to stop messing around trying new product ideas and to bring back my most successful project (based on users) that I've ever created.
About six years ago I had a project called ezScript. It was released on the chrome webstore as an app. I didn't do any advertising and within a few months I got to 2k monthly users. The problem was that I wrote very proudly that it was 100% free and I would never charge for it.
Now the chrome webstore doesn't allow apps, and I haven't touched the codebase in years. I've decided to revive the project with a subscription monetization model. There are already other SaaS products that follow a similar model, so I think it should work.
My plan is to get an MVP together by the end of February and see how it goes. If I don't get any users, well it's a good project to work on my React skills so it won't be a loss.

Primarily I'm looking to just get my first web project published. I'd like to gain some experience with react, stripe payments, and SEO.
