JustToSay Cards
Online greeting cards for groups
The latest release of JustToSay Cards adds the ability to upload your own images to make your message even more personalized. You now have a choice of adding a GIFs (from Giphy), an image (from Unsplash) or your own images.
Really pleased to announce that JustToSay Cards has been accepted in to the Microsoft For Startups program.
The back-end of JustToSay Cards is built on a Microsoft technology stack (C# / .NET / SQL Server) and hosted on Microsoft's Azure platform. I wrote about our tech stack here if anyone is interested.
There are several benefits to the Microsoft for Startups program but the biggest one for me is that Microsoft will be picking up the tab for the next 12 months, which means I can invest more money in marketing.

Have you had to migrate to the new subscription or these benefits are applied to the existing one?

I migrated to a new subscription. I’m not sure if it can be applied to an existing one or not, I took the opportunity to tidy the infrastructure up, document everything, and ditch a lot of cruft that had built up on my old subscription, which I’d had for years and for several old projects.

How long after applying did you get a reply / approval? I signed up over a month ago and it is still showing up as pending.

Wow, congratulations. Keep up the good work. I can't wait to see how JustToSay Cards evolves!
A greeting card app has to have a large and diverse selection of themes, so JustToSay Cards range of themes is something I'll be revisiting and adding to regularly. This is the first update since the public launch and adds a bunch of stylish new two-colour themes.
If you have any ideas for themes you'd like to see, let me know!

Spent the weekend making sure there are no glaring problems that would negatively impact the site's SEO rating.
I signed up for the ahrefs free plan and went through all the issues it found from the first scan, cleaning them up to ensure it got a clean bill of health
I also signed up for the Bing and Google webmaster tools and submitted the sitemap to both.
Fingers crossed this will help the site start to rank for some relevant keywords.

After a few months of development and a few weeks of procrastination (endlessly asking myself if it was good enough to launch yet) I finally flicked the switch and put JustToSay Cards live.
I'm hopeless at marketing, so I'm going to force myself to do the "2 weeks developing, 2 weeks marketing" approach for the next few months. Fingers crossed.

Like a lot of people, I changed jobs during lockdown and, like a lot of people I guess, found it wasn't a great experience - neither leaving the old job nor starting the new one. No leaving drinks, no real chance to say goodbye, no getting to know you sessions, and lots of meetings with anonymous people who didn't turn their cameras on.
Since this is the new normal, I started wondering how it could be improved, even if in a small way, and came up with a bunch of ideas for products that could help. Top of the list was online farewell cards - we can't pass a card around the office anymore, but with an online card everyone can still say goodbye and show they care - so today I broke ground on JustToSay Cards - online collaborative group greeting cards.
