In order to provide more relevant information (and visuals!), attraction / place / point of interest pages use a new template. Related places within the country are also provided thanks to a ML technique called clustering.

I'm confident enough to start listing Karambol on renowned websites. Many iterations have been made on all aspects such as the design and the machine learning model. Karambol will always be a work in progress and the current version is ready to take over the world!

Thanks! Monetization is a secret recipe I haven't crack yet. I'm more focused on building the audience. If you have any feedback based on Detoxbox, I'd be curious to read it!

Not based on Detoxbox, but an obvious thing would be advertising for locals. Say, I'm reading your plan for Thailand, and right next to "Phuket" I see a local BnB, a bike rental, and a gift shop. Ideally, with a discount coupon that I could show to the owner (so that they know I'm coming from you). A referral link to a site like Kayak would also work.

It's been a year now since I came up with the idea. Week after week, I’m working on Karambol, in addition to my regular work. Yes, it is a side project! Perseverance and regularity are the keys. The design is ok and the machine learning algorithm far from perfect but Karambol technically works and is online since January.
Paper guides and travel blogs are quite frustrating to me: too much content and very time consuming in terms of reading, new (not so) “must sees” added every year just to justify a new edition / post and extensive use of (unnecessary) storytelling.
I like having the “best of the best” places to visit and have help building my itinerary. I know many others do the same way.
