Kickstart your domain names into sideprojects

Visit Website
June 12, 2020 Finished kickstart.dev mvp!

Even though I feel a hundred little things could be better, I'm taking the 'you should be ashamed of your first version' to heart and making my MVP public.

I've had so much fun creating this, and even if nobody signs up I'm sure a will use this myself. Actually, this thought has been running through my head a lot this last month: Would I buy this?

Of course I'm hoping this will resonate with other people as well, but being able to start a sideproject from one of my existing domain names in just a few clicks is.. almost addictive!
It's just fun!

Now I'll be looking for feedback from others. I've noticed in the past that a lot of times your product can be 10x better with feedback from visitors/customers.

I feel the same Jorma when I work on my side hustle. If I'd use it then I'm sure there'd be people out there looking for this kind of product.

    Congrats!!

      Thanks!
Yes, at the very least the product will have 1 happy user ;)

    Congrats on launching the MVP.
Really great idea! I am glad that somebody worked on it! :)

Btw, can you explain more on the "one-click hosted pages"? What and how will it create and organize the webpages?
And you are giving out spaces to store emails?!

      Sure, good questions!

      • With the one-click hosted page you're able to pick from a small selection of templates and fill in some fields (like 'title', 'intro', 'cta', etc) and with a single click the webpage will be deployed to your domain. Since the domain's DNS would be handled by kickstart.dev, everything can be automated and there's no hassle for you, the user
      • yes, unlimited email boxes are included, including space to store those emails :)

    Hey Jorma,

Looks like a cool idea and well done for just getting out there into the world!
Would love to chat as I'm working on a couple of domain-related things at the moment as well. I followed you on twitter (@superstackdev).

    Peace
    Paul

    I needed this yesterday :-)
    Great idea.

Haha, nice. Which aspect of the product appeals most to you?
ie what would you need the most and how have you solved it yesterday?

Well, I registered a domain name which came with 5 web forwards and 5 mail forwards just to be able to get a landing page up and running and to be able to send e-mails. What I think your product does would have made this so much easier and les limited.

Yes, that's definitely what I'm going for (ie to make that process ridiculously simple)

Interesting enough I also just launched a saas app yesterday which is used for collecting and managing customer feedback. Perhaps you could look at it and consider incorporating it with your app https://feedpiper.com

About

I've registered more domain names than I can remember, but most of them end up expiring after a year. Kickstart.dev makes it super easy and fun to get started on your sideproject. Setup email etc in just a few clicks.
