The revenue only grew by a few dollars but since start over 40,000 matches were tracked using the app. That's 286 days 16 hours 33 min of play time.

Kicktrack is successful when it comes to users but not when it comes it its finances. Maybe this is also due to a very permissible free plan.

I haven't done much in regards of marketing. I tried one of these services that post your app on multiple websites and try to get press coverage but that did not work at all.

Due to the lack of competition the app ranks well on Google for "foosball tracking" and so every week a few people sign up.

Since you can use all important features for free for up to 6 players, there was no need for many to start paying but in February a team finally got enough players that wanted to be tracked and they signed up to the small paid tier. All of you founders here know how great it feels to have the monetary confirmation that your idea is working. The app makes barely any money but over 4,000 foosball matches were tracked already and since we use it everyday in our company I feel it was already a good investment of my time.

I started creating a minimalistic cross platform phone app so we could track our matches. We used that everyday but since I cobbled it together on a weekend, it was pretty *****.

Not having found any good product for our "problem" on the market, I took some more time and re-built the app from scratch.

The app is still super simple and it takes just a few taps to start a match. Everybody has a phone so everybody in the company can start a match. Tracking is as simple as tapping the player's name when he or she shot a goal. At the end you see how each player's standings in the rankings have changed.

The new version then came with a one-pager website https://kicktrack.app and even a freemium pricing. I now felt that the app was stable enough to support other companies signing up for some matches.

I've been working in a startup with my two co-founders for 5 years. We have been frugal, always keeping our runway in mind. At the end of 2017 we finally reached break even and did not have to count down the days until the money ran out. Needless to say we were very happy and relieved. Our company culture has not been nurtured much due to the high pressure and I wanted to change that so I voted for buying a foosball table for the office. Best investment we have made, hands down.

So now we had a nice foosball table and we all loved playing after our lunch break but what good is that if you can't keep track of your matches, create a ranking, and nerdy stats to dangle in front of your losing co-workers face? Exactly, it would be pointless. This is not a bar, this is a software company. With nerds and such. So we needed a software to track our matches!
