Last week I started planning a new addition to Kinetixseo.com. Something usefull, something that would help anyone trying to understand if their site was mentioned by AI.

So I got building, AI helpt a lot, I got a nice little dashboard and got pretty decent results. I could add prompts, keywords and query across the top 5 AI search engines.

After a week of building and testing it worked as intended. Me happy!

Till then next day when I ran one of my prompts, the one that tells me the cost of this little experiment. Across 50 pages for a week, across a dozen keywords and different prompts and across 5 AI engines I spend about €150,- in tokens.

Not something I can use as a free add-on to a €120,- package.

The intention was good, the execution was good yet the outcome failed.

Lesson learned!

That was the type of email I got sunday at 7pm.

I open most email unless it is obvious spam and boy am I glad I did. The email came from a hacker who gave me examples I could check.

So I checked and he/she was right. There was something very wrong. The weird part? The hacker send a plain text email and no name, just asked for 15.- dollar payment if I wanted too.

Ofcourse I paid, plugged the hole and made the site faster in the process.

So thanks kind hacker person! I added double checking all configs to the list of things to check.

I send a thank you as a reply to that email and guess what.
The email came back because the emailadress did not exists.

A real Ghost...

One of the downsides of building something you believe in is people not understanding your brain does not turn off when it is past 5 or when it is a weekend.

Any spare minute my brain turn to ideas, things to do and things I should have done differently, things that need improving.

A weekend is going out with friends, spending time with family and at the same time my brains is making todolists, figuring out next steps, analysing conversations and so much more.

That is, when I dont site behind my desk all weekend and wondering why I am so hungry at 7 in the evening with breakfast still sitting untouched.

When hearing other founders say hey work an insane amount of hours I can relate, but yet is doesnt feel like working. A weekend is just another day to do what you love.

My current 'project' KinetixSEO started in one of those weekends. Being busy, figuring out this SEO stuff I hadn't used in a decade. Looking at tools and not finding what I needed or should I say not wanted to learn.

That weekend was full of frustration, needing quick and good answers but having to go through many articles about SEO, GEO, AI citation. Wondering how hard it could be... Which we all know comes back to bite you.

To all the SEO people out there, mad respect!

Last weekend I deployed my latest creation, KinetixSEO. Ran all the test, fixed bugs and now the first version is ready for real world testing. My goal was to make something that help me and if it helps me then it should help others.

The latter means it will never be done, it means continues improvements, which is where the weekends come in. My kind of weekend, not the ones I have been hearing about because lets face it, being a founder equals a;ways being busy.
