Hey! I didn't post here for so long! I decided to take a totally new direction for Kingdom...
A social platform and game with its own economy partly based on the Ethereum blockchain.

I decided to publish a full monthly report for kingdom.so from now!
February was exciting; it's clearly the launch month to me, as the first version released in October was more like a weekend project, and I spent the last four months re-building everything from scratch.
Data (since the 16th February - Launch day):
- New players: 130
- Kingdom built: 69
- Tiles built: 527
- Revenue: $220
For March, I will focus on the next version; I hope to release it during the month. Here what I have on my to-do:
- Profile page
- Stories and comments
- Upvote system with coins (support other players with your coins, you will be able to upvote for kingdoms, stories, or comments)
- Refactoring and optimization, the web app starts to be slow!
And for sure, I will spend a massive amount of time promoting! Players pay for visibility; I need to deliver ;-)

I am so excited to introduce you Kingdom 0.2.
In October, I launched Kingdom: a fun weekend project.
A few hours after the launch, the CEO of Flickr paid $700 to buy some lands...
Then I made $1500 in few days 🤯.
I gave $1000 to WeForest to plant 565 trees.
And I disappear to work non-stop on a stable and long-term version (on the side of my freelance gigs).
Today, it's finally ready! It's not perfect, but you can already signup and build your very own kingdom on https://kingdom.so (only on desktop for now).
I am now working on the social features;
But this time, I won't disappear. 😂
I can't wait to have your feedback.

Hi Julian, this is such a fun and cool idea! I also love your initiative on getting more trees planted :). Also something weird I ran into... when I first opened it up on Chrome 88.0.4324.182, the loading bar gets stuck at 100%. Here's the error I get in the Chrome console:
Uncaught (in promise) Error: WebGL unsupported in this browser, use "pixi.js-legacy" for fallback canvas2d support.. I did some quick research, and this was what fixed it for me in Chrome. Hardware acceleration in Chrome was disabled, so a quick enable fixed it! Hope this helps you and other users as well :). Looking forward to seeing the future of your project!! I don't have a site (yet) atm but I will be sure to join soon! Good luck!-

I will probably make the link not mandatory so people can start to promote early stage, which can be interesting when the social features will be here.

That's really cool! Why not making it with a dedicated cryptocurrency?
THis also guarantees that every block is unique and a market can be created.
You could make millions!
But maybe you already thought about this.-

Hey! Yes and it's even in my plan, I am thinking about to use the ERC-20 standard... I prefered to start with the "normal way" to test the market first. I have some technical knowledge about Ethereum and smart contract development but it will take time to implement and I don't have any clue about the legal side and it's probably not so easy :-/
So definitely in the road map ;-)

Hello VLVD thanks, I use vuejs/nuxtjs and pixijs for the 2d map rendering for the frontend and nodejs, pusher and mongodb for the backend.
The map is fully live but nobody notice as there are not enough interactions yet haha

I remember Kingdom v0.1. It's a pretty interesting concept with a geeky-vibe too it.
If you could gamify it a bit more I think you have a fun alternative to promotions.
Though I don't see the part about donating to plant trees anymore. Was that ever a thing or just remembering the concept incorrectly?

Hey! So nice that you remember the 0.1!
About the trees, I decided to give 10% of the revenue and not 50% anymore as I want to develop Kingdom as a long term project and it's too risky to give 50%. It's probably not sustainable.

Gamification is a big part of the concept and I will develop it a lot, social features will come also pretty soon :-)

I really like your project, and I signed up with my website. One thing that I think you could improve is the scrolling in the tile shop. My scroll wheel will go for ages, and there's very little movement which is a slight pain.
I love all the different tile choices, and being able to pay for more. I also love the fact you're donating money to plant trees too, this world definitely needs more of them.

Kingdom made 1.4K in the first month 🚀

The Kingdom.so adventure start to be really amazing, I am now working hard on the version 2 with:
- A user area (login, signup...)
- A virtual money to create and extend kingdom (with a random pirate chest to open every day to get coins :-p)
- A system to give coins to kingdom that you like (a new way to upvote ^^)
- A Message/comment system to get feedback on your project

As I have 0 connexion in the tech scene my main strategy is to DM startup owner on Twitter.
I launched Kingdom.so yesterday (saturday 4).
I sent a couple of DM randomly to get the initial traction.
10 or something like it... I was so lucky... I targeted by mistake an employe of Flickr (my initial target was Eric Willis).
After few minutes, the CEO of Flickr discovered the project, signup and bought for $600 of land...

I thought this might of actually been a map of actual land, like the United Kingdom, kind of like how you can get people who own certain parts of the UK in Stronghold Kingdoms.
You could end up charging loads more for plots in London and other capital cities! 😅

I'm not sure how this works but why does the background not extend all the way to the edges when you move around? Either than or have fixed camera viewport where you eventually run to the edge. Zoom in and out on trackpad is very nice :)
