Kintsu : Habit Tracker

Miss a day? Come back tomorrow to keep your streak.

May 10, 2026 I built a habit tracker that turns missed days into gold and repairs your streak!

I've quit every habit tracker I've ever used.

Not because I forgot about them. Because I missed one day, and the streak was gone. That number — 47 days, 90 days — would drop to zero, and something in my brain just said "what's the point anymore?"

So I stopped. Every time.

I started thinking about why that happens. Streaks work on the premise that consistency is binary, you either kept it or you didn't. But real life isn't like that. You get sick. You travel. You have a bad week.

Then I came across Kintsugi : the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold. The philosophy is that something broken, repaired, becomes more beautiful than it was before. The cracks are part of the story.

That became the foundation of Kintsu.

Miss a day? That tile shows empty : no punishment, no streak reset. Come back the next day and that empty tile turns gold. Your activity grid literally gets more beautiful the more comebacks you make. Recovery is celebrated, not erased.

What I built: daily and weekly habit tracking, two modes (Build things you want to grow, Release things you want to let go), an Urge Surfing feature with guided breathing for cravings, hold-to-log with haptic feedback, and it works 100% offline with no account required.

Built with React Native, Expo, and Drizzle ORM. SQLite on-device. No backend, no tracking.

Just launched on the Play Store. $4 MRR with 80 active users and 2 paid subscribers. Going live on Product Hunt this Tuesday.

Would love honest feedback - especially from anyone who has tried and failed with habit trackers before. That is exactly who this is for.

I kept quitting habit trackers the moment I missed a day. One missed day felt like failure, so I'd stop entirely. Kintsu is built around the Japanese art of Kintsugi — broken things repaired with gold become more beautif
