May 19, 2026 KitchenLink: Culinary Technology for Every Kitchen

KitchenLink is an all-in-one culinary management and costing platform designed to digitize, organize, and optimize kitchen workflows. Built with cutting-edge, 100% native technology, the application is tailored for both professional chefs and restaurant managers who need to control their margins down to the millimeter, as well as home cooking enthusiasts looking for a powerful tool to organize their recipes and groceries.

The primary goal of KitchenLink is to eliminate the chaos of manual calculations, outdated spreadsheets, and clutter by centralizing an entire kitchen's ecosystem into a single, cloud-connected platform.

🚀 Core Features (Release 1.0)

1. Automated Costing & Profitability Engine

The heart of KitchenLink is its financial engine. The app automatically calculates the exact production cost of every recipe down to the last cent. When you update the price of an ingredient, the cost of all recipes using it recalculates in real-time. It allows you to set target profit margins and suggests ideal selling prices, ensuring profitability without the need for manual math.

2. Professional Hierarchical Organization (Folder System)

Say goodbye to endless, messy lists. KitchenLink uses a nested browsing architecture (infinite folders), allowing users to organize their ingredients and recipes exactly like their physical pantry or kitchen stations (e.g., Walk-in Fridge > Proteins > Beef or Summer Menu > Appetizers).

3. Provider Matrix & Multi-Brand Support

A single ingredient is rarely always bought from the same place. KitchenLink allows you to:

Register multiple suppliers for the same ingredient.

Add different brands, packaging formats, and prices per provider.

Dynamically calculate the most cost-effective option and maintain a price history.

4. Modular Recipe & Sub-Recipe Architecture

To speed up creation, recipes in KitchenLink are modular. You can create a "Bolognese Sauce" recipe and then add it just like any other ingredient (a sub-recipe) inside a larger "Lasagna" recipe. Changing the base recipe will automatically update the costing of all final dishes.

5. Magic Unit Conversions

The system handles complex conversions invisibly:

Mass & Volume: Frictionless conversion between liters, grams, cups, etc.

Metric & Imperial: Switch between measurement standards instantly.

Smart Scaling: Calculates "Units to Weight" equivalents based on user specifications (e.g., defining that 1 Medium Egg = 50 grams).

🛠 Technology & Performance

KitchenLink is not a wrapped web app. It is built on Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP), guaranteeing lightning-fast, native performance on both Android and iOS devices. Furthermore, its deep integration with the cloud ensures real-time synchronization across all user devices with zero risk of data loss.

🗺 The Future: Roadmap & Upcoming Versions

KitchenLink is designed as a living platform. After consolidating the core inventory and costing features in its first release, the development roadmap includes:

Nutrition & Health:

Automatic tracking of an allergen database for each ingredient.

Automated Macronutrient calculation (Proteins, Carbs, Fats, and Calories) for every final dish.

Rich Media Integration:

Built-in support for step-by-step photos and videos inside recipe instructions.

The Culinary Social Network:

Public profiles and recipe feeds. Users will be able to discover, follow other cooks, and draw inspiration from the community's cookbook.

Marketplace & Monetization (Creator Tier):

A platform where chefs and content creators can monetize their talent, allowing the direct sale of exclusive recipes or professional cost breakdowns to other users.

May 19, 2026 Presentation

Hi everyone,

I’ve spent enough time around kitchens to know that managing recipe costs, fluctuating supplier prices, and messy notebooks is a massive headache. I tried many diferent apps but i didnt like any of them at all as they were good at food costing but not as recipe manager.

That's why I've been developing KitchenLink—a mobile app designed to bring structural order and automated financial precision to both passionate home cooks and industry pros.

What it does right now:

Automated food costing: Update an ingredient's price once, and every recipe/sub-recipe using it updates its cost and profit margins instantly.

Modular Recipes: You can nest sub-recipes (like a base sauce) inside main recipes.

Multi-Supplier & Multi-Brand Matrix: Link multiple providers, brands, and packaging formats to a single ingredient to always track the best deal.

Magic Unit Conversions: Seamlessly scale and convert between Metric/Imperial and Units-to-Weight (e.g., automatically calculating grams from a number of eggs).

100% Native & Cloud-Synced: Built using Kotlin Multiplatform for real-time sync between iOS and Android. No slow web-wrappers.

The Roadmap: We are already planning automatic allergen tracking, macronutrient calculation, rich media (videos/photos in steps), and a social feed where creators can eventually share or even sell their recipes.

I need your help: The app is currently in Alpha, and I need people who love cooking to break it, critique the UI, and tell me what features you actually need.

If you want to jump in, drop a comment below or DM me, and I’ll send you the link to join the alpha testing!

Thank you so much!
