Reinventing the product dev tool
Last week we finally turned on billing. Building the subscription stuff on top of Stripe has been much more complex than anticipated (might look into services like Chargebee the next time). Anyways, the first payments are in. Crossing fingers that we don't get a huge churn now :)

And 40% of respondents said they would be "Very disappointed" if they couldn't use Kitemaker anymore. That is the Product/Market fit threshold!
Do we have Product/Market fit? Well, no, we're not experiencing that kind of growth. So, we will continue working on growth and improving the product.
We launched on Product Hunt. We got several hundred of new users, and all-in-all it has been successful. At the start of the day we were 2nd place, but we saw as Europe started to slow down, and the US started to wake up, we got less traction and we ended up a bit down the list.
The interesting part is that compared to many launches of ProductHunt we get a lot more visitors and new users relative to votes. As someone said, vote ups on ProductHunt is a popularity contest and don't mean anything.
We're avid believers that you should show what you are working on. So, we have been showing early versions of Kitemaker to quite many people now. In general, we get good feedback and insights.
However, we're now seeing that when showing it we get people wanting to use it now. It's still early days, but it's good validation.
We started working on the "new" Kitemaker!
We have been working a few months now on a product to help teams get an overview of their process and help them organize designs, documents, issues, discussions, etc.
Two things are clear now:
- Whenever we do something great in the UI, we get instant love
- Almost everyone wants to use the tool to replace Trello, Jira, or something else.
That's why we're starting over on a new tool, a tool that:
- Teams want to use
- It starts with tasks at is core
- All the ideas and experience we have of making and leading high performing teams will go into the tool.
