Kleroteria
Social Email Lottery
500 subscribers wasn't quite enough for me to feel comfortable beginning the lottery process -- I was worried I'd run out of subscribers willing to write to the list. So, I told everyone we'd start the lottery once the list hit 1000 subscribers and encouraged them to share it with friends.
It took about 7 months to make that happen, but finally the first post went out without any problems.
Even though I didn't have access to The Listserve's old mailing list, I did have an archive of all the previous posts to it: https://thelistservearchive.com
I set up an email campaign with the ~2k email addresses I scraped from the archive and pitched them on Kleroteria. This yielded about 500 subscribers.

The Listserve shut down on May 19th and I started working on a replacement almost immediately. A few weekends later everything was ready to launch, but that turned out to be a bit too slow: The Listserve team had already deleted their mailing list, so I'd have to start from scratch.

Kleroteria is preceded by The Listserve, which was an email list where one random subscriber periodically won the chance to email all other subscribers. It shut down in 2018, and I built Kleroteria to replace it.

I would dare to ask, have you ever won the lottery? Well, maybe not the jackpot, but perhaps any amount of money. I have never played the lottery because I don't really like this kind of luck games. However, my brother is lottery addicted. He won once, a small amount of money, but lately, he has more confidence in himself, especially after finding https://www.calotteries.com. This website indeed helps him choose the number wisely, and plus, they post the daily lottery results. I hope that this will be with luck for him.
