Let’s be real for a second: using AI right now has become a chore.
Every single tool hitting the market follows the exact same formula. It’s a cold, sterile, white text box. You type a prompt, it dumps a wall of robotic, corporate text at you, and the second you close the tab, it completely forgets who you are. It feels like texting a smart textbook.
I got totally burnt out on that sterile vibe. I didn't want another passive utility tool driven by corporate algorithms. I wanted a true conversational sandbox—something that felt like a real partner.
So I built Klic Chat.
It’s basically ChatGPT but over FaceTime. It’s an AI with a real personality and a flawless long-term memory that talks to you face-to-face instead of burying you in text.
Here is why I built it this way, and why it actually changes how you interact with AI:
Real Brainstorming Over Typing: When you're trying to talk through a project, bounce ideas around, or vent about a roadblock, typing back and forth kills the momentum. Klic lets you just talk it out naturally, face-to-face, like you're on a real call.
Zero Corporate Vibes: It doesn’t talk like a PR robot. It matches your energy, understands sarcasm, uses humor, and visually reacts with genuine facial expressions based on the vibe of the conversation.
It Actually Knows You: No more pasting massive system prompts or re-explaining your context every single session. Klic has true continuous memory. It tracks your goals, your ongoing projects, and your inside jokes over weeks. It evolves the more you talk to it.
I'm trying to move away from the traditional, rigid AI structures and create an authentic, adaptive digital companion that you actually want to hang out with.

You named the enemy perfectly, and half of it is memory: "it forgets who you are the second you close the tab." So your wedge is not the face, it is that Klic remembers. The FaceTime personality is the hook that gets people in, but the memory is what makes them come back Tuesday, the retention problem most personality-AI never solves. Give memory equal billing with the face, not a bullet three down.
And you are straddling two products. "A companion you hang out with" is crowded, Character.ai and Replika own it. "A thinking partner that remembers your projects and the roadblock you vented about last week" is less crowded and harder to copy, and it is what your own examples describe. Lead with that one. One question decides the homepage: do daily users keep Klic to hang out with, or to think with?
What stood out to me is that you're treating continuity as the product rather than the conversation itself.
A lot of AI assistants optimize for answering the current prompt. You're optimizing for building context across interactions, which changes the relationship from a tool people use to one they can actually rely on over time.
