Knocker
Automate searching businesses without website in a click
I finally shared Knocker on Product Hunt.
The link of the page : https://www.producthunt.com/posts/knocker-3
I have not prepared the launch religiously, just submitted it and voilà! I am not expecting much from it since the PH community is not reflecting the product target. But I am sure I will get some great feedbacks!
I added the first new feature to the product: the possibility to include in results businesses with a website that was generated by Google My Business. That kind of website is not optimized for local SEO and has poor branding, which gives room for web agencies to improve it.

I have implemented the subscription model one month ago., time to look at it with some perspectives.
I gained 150 signups since then, with approximately 75% of new users who give a try to the search module. Freemium to Paid conversion rate is at 2% right now. To get a better conversion rate, I am :
- slightly decreasing the monthly price of our package to see if price is causing friction
- starting connecting directly with web agencies through LinkedIn, talking to the right target is paramount now
Hoping to have 10 paid users by the end of May!

2 days after publishing the new subscriptions and adding some features to the app, I got my first paying customer who subscribed for a $79 a month package.
I got to experience issues with Stripe 3D secure and webhooks so it was a good opportunity to fix the checkout workflow.
Still developing the app under the radar, I am thinking about implementing a Quarterly billing cycle instead of a Yearly billing before bringing too many visitors.

I released a major update to the app, dropping the pay-per-use pricing model for a subscription-based model.
Knocker has now 4 different plans:
- Starter: Free forever with 20 leads/month and not all business types
- Plus: 100 leads/month+All Types+Support
- Professional: 500 leads/month+All Types+Support
- Enterprise 2500 leads/month+All Types+Support
I have also added 15+ business types possibilities for search requests since some users were asking for them

I actually forgot I submitted Knocker there a few weeks ago.
I am currently changing the pricing model from pay-per-use to monthly/yearly subscription plus polishing the landing page so do not want to get too much attention yet...
But too late, having a link to Knocker there brought me :
- 120 referral visits from Betalist.com
- 30 sign-ups
- 28 new searches (400+ leads delivered for free)
- some nice feedback and tips by email/intercom chat :)
Happy it happened at the end, I will be even more ready for the big serious launch on Product Hunt ;)

Really putting efforts into getting my first paying customers now.
I have added the fantastic chatbox made by Intercom on the landing page, hopefully I will get better feedback from visitors and identify where is the bottleneck to conversion.
I have 100 sign-ups already, all of them have used the free credits to do some searches but did not top up yet.
Pay per use pricing model is not appealing enough in my opinion, currently doing the changes with Stripe and in the backend to add 3 premium package and 1 forever free plan.

Hi Thomas,
This is such a great idea.
How exactly are you finding these businesses?
Are you scraping Google Maps?
Do you provide the same leads to everyone? I mean if 2 people perform the same search 'bars & restaurants in Brussels' in the same week, do they get the same results?
I just tried it and it works like a charm! well done.-

Hi @nanatoni
Leads are found scraping Google Maps / Facebook Maps and Yelp.
All URLs are undergoing a health check test + some in-house filters to remove links to social media pages and businesses directory.
Leads are unique for each user for now but it may change in the future when I have more vision over the cost/revenue ratio.
Thank you for trying and sharing your comment, much appreciated!
Cheers ;)

Long time I had not written a long text! Finally done creating the blog thanks to flat CMS blog engine Grav.
I plan to write there every week on the following subjects :
- lead generation
- sales techniques
- why Small businesses need a website
- which tools to use to create a simple website without coding skills...

The product has been improved with the integration of Facebook and Yelp Places platforms to deliver better results.
The landing page has been rewritten to make the message and vision of the product clearer.
People are confined, cannot go out there to look for opportunities. Thousands of freelancers home looking for a job and even more businesses are suffering because of a lack of digital presence.
I see Knocker as a solution to help both freelancers and small businesses to keep having incomes during this difficult period.
Time to spread the words!

More than 50% of the time of digital professionals lays in looking for clients. Hence, I gave myself the challenge to help agencies and freelancers finding projects easier and faster.

Congrats on the launch!
I’m not sure whether you’ve posted there already, but you might see some success at Show HN also.
