February 7, 2020 First annual paying customer

This one calls for a celebration, for sure. It's been just one month of writing content behind a paywall, and one kind random stranger has become my first annual customer.

It is even more exciting because I have not even started marketing/distributing the content properly yet.

Still building the treasury.

January 30, 2020 First paying customer

So, this is the moment I waited for quite a month. It's a surreal feeling when someone brings out their credit card and gives you money.

I have always been writing, and for the first time, I had put it behind a paywall. I was nervous to do it, but sooner or later, I had to bite the bullet.

January 10, 2020 Article #2 published

This one was special - not just because it was beautifully crafted but also because it's the first article, I distributed across the internet.

It's one of the most, if not the most, asked questions by a lot of my friends, "What the heck is an API?" I took a week to write down an explanation in simple English.

I liked the first part I could read on medium. When I clicked the image at end i was redirected (on mobile) to https://knowyknowy-com.cdn.ampproject.org/c/s/knowyknowy.com/api/amp/ which only shows the header, no article

Oh damn! Looks like there’s some issue with the AMP settings.

You can use this URL: https://knowyknowy.com/api/

Let me know if this works.

January 2, 2020 First article is published.

Jan 1, 2020. It was the beginning of a new decade, and I very vividly recalled the days of the Millennium Bug or Y2K bug.

I decided to write the first article explaining exactly what it was and how it was fixed throughout the globe.

As it was the first article, I have kept it to be read for FREE by anyone who's a registered member of KnowyKnowy.

2019 Came up with the idea.

I, very frequently, kept running into people (mostly startup investors) who were having trouble getting hold of the latest technology jargon. 😔

Having written blog posts that dumbed down as complex subjects as blockchain for general mass (Google "WTF is Blockchain?"), I realized, there might be a market that'd pay a small monthly subscription to get articles like these. 🤑

December 30, 2019 Finished the MVP

Being the maker that I am, my first instinct was to code the entire website on my own from scratch. I had spent more than a week when I realized, the essence of KnowyKnowy is not "how cool it is technically", instead it is, "how well I can write the content."

That's when, after an hour of Googling, I settled on building the website in Ghost Headless CRM. I used the bundled free theme and moved my focus to writing from making.

About

A lot of people understand technology only as some abstract concept. I have a passion for understanding something complex in-depth and explaining it in simple language.
