I took a test-driven approach to constructing the interface and kept iterating until it was usable as a real app. After a period of integrating it into my personal study routines, I filled any gaps that would make it hard for another person to understand it. I learned if you take another products assumptions as your own, you need to bring them to question - avoid blindly following someone else's path, even though you might think 'it works'. Be conscious throughout the process.
