I just launched AI Age Checker — a tool that uses Google's Nano Banana Pro (Gemini 3 Pro Image) to estimate your age from a photo. Thought I'd share my journey and some learnings.

🎯 The Problem I Wanted to Solve

Everyone's curious about how old they look. Skincare brands want objective data. And honestly? I just wanted to build something fun with the latest AI models.

There are age estimation tools out there, but most are:

Tech Stack:

• Frontend: Next.js 15 + TypeScript

• Backend: Cloudflare Workers (edge-first)

• AI: Google Nano Banana Pro via API

• DB: NeonDB (Postgres) + Drizzle ORM

• Payments: Stripe

• Auth: Better Auth

Why this stack? Edge-first architecture means fast response times globally. Plus I can keep costs low while scaling.

I went with a credit-based model:

• Free tier: 10 credits on signup

• Basic: $9.9/mo (40 images, 200 credits)

• Pro: $15.9/mo (80 images, 400 credits) ⭐ Most popular

• Max: $29.9/mo (200 images, 1000 credits)

Yearly plans get up to 60% off — trying to incentivize longer commitments.

1. Marketing — How do you market something that's "just for fun"?

As a developer, I realized there was a gap between this powerful technology and everyday users who just wanted to edit their images without learning complicated software. The Flux Kontext model was impressive, but it needed a simple, conversational interface.

That's when I decided to build KontextChat.app. I wanted to take the capabilities of Flux Kontext and wrap them in something as easy as having a chat with a friend. Instead of dealing with technical parameters or complex prompts, users could simply describe what they wanted.

The development process was about bridging that gap - making advanced AI image editing accessible through natural conversation. Now anyone can harness the power of Flux Kontext just by talking to their images.
