Kowa
Wishlists organizer
I online shop mostly on my MacBook, thus I wanted a macOS version of Kowa. I've used Mac Catalyst to achieve this during development. With some macOS-specific fixes and integrations, Kowa is also available on macOS for $4.99.
I launched an additional feature that was actually planned for ages. This was the screening feature of the customer's wish items. This I meant for keeping your wishlists up-to-date. We all know the times where you planning on buying something but after several days you don't desire it anymore. This feature intends to remove those items pro-actively.

Kowa was then released on the app store. There were around 100~ new installs during this period and some were using Kowa to organize their wishlists and items. I was glad about the release since I knew at least some of them are happy about the app.
I've also launched it on ProductHunt and gained around 60+ updates on the day.

I gained a lot of traction thanks to a tweet: https://twitter.com/hoyelam/status/1266067533100179456?s=20.
Thanks to this Tweet I gained more confidence that it could be something worth launching and building for. Many voiced their opinions and were asking for a beta-test period.

I built an initial or prototype version of Kowa. Then I started asking around locally what others thought about it. Most of these people were friends and colleagues. They liked the idea but didn't find the need to use it every day or even often. Maybe it was the wrong target audience to ask, but at least I got some confirmation that it could be interesting.

I was online shopping for a bit and then realized that the wishlist features are pretty broken across webshops. The biggest drawback is that they are not universal, I may want to buy something on Amazon and another on Walmart. Then I realized that this was a problem.

Wishlists are all over the place. They are scattered between your digital notes, e-commerce shops, books, mind, and probably more places. Such a hassle… wish there was an app to organize all those things in one place.
