The Journey of Krater.ai: Pivoting an Idea

Hey Hackers, today I want to share the humble journey of how Krater.ai went from a simple AI Copywriting Tool to becoming a fully-fledged AI SuperApp for all your needs.

The Beginning:
At first, I wanted to create an Artificial Intelligence Copywriting tool, because I had been using one for the last few years (Think Jasper.ai, Copy.ai, etc.), and I wanted to hop on the bandwagon myself and try to make a bit of cash from it.

The idea:
So, I built what I originally called "Okaaaay" (yes, that was the name) and made the Copywriting app in the no-code tool Bubble.io. I quickly realized that the market was already saturated with tons of AI Copywriting tools and that mine wasn't that special in comparison to the big players. I had to think differently. One night right before sleeping in Barcelona, it struck me.

Pivoting:
I had to create something different. I had always dreaded having to have one AI tool for Copywriting, one for Image Generations, one for Text to Speech and so on, AND, on top of that, I'd have to pay for each service, which racked up to $100+/mo. So, I had the idea. I was going to create a platform that solved this.

Building the vision:
I initially wanted to create a whole new standalone application from the then "Okaaaay", but I quickly realized that utilising the infrastructure, name and early adopters I had for the app, would excel my new vision a bit faster. So, I quickly began building out what now is Krater.ai, I rebranded, added new tools slowly and ramped up marketing efforts.

The now:
We're currently hovering at around $1000/ true MRR from Subscriptions, but what has made a difference is the funding we're getting from Lifetime Deals on various sites; these bring in a total of about $3000/MRR. The LTDs allow us to get early users, feedback, and a small cash injection.

The future:
The ideal vision is to become THE go-to AI application for all your Content Creation needs – To have all tools and applications in one easy-to-use yet powerful platform, where you can utilize the powers of Aritificial Intelligence.
