Kwiki
Knowledge base for businesses
We've had problems retaining our users - people would come, sign up and never come back. To see what's the problem, we set up HotJar and realized - people found the interface confusing!
So we decided to take a step back and redid the UX with the help of a professional UX designer.
We hope it is now much easier to get around and make the best of kwiki! Try it out and let me know!

I think this is something all indie hackers struggle with. You have an idea. You love it. You have the skills, so you build it. You make it public. Aaaaaand - nothing happens! If you build it, they WON'T come. You need to market it, you need to do SEO, ads, outreach etc. etc. And it is not simple.
Kwiki is our first SaaS product we made public and this is the hard truth we are learning about. Getting customers is not easy. Having someone put actual money down to use your product is even harder.
Even when it is not about the money, but about getting feedback - it's hard. Everyone's time is precious, people don't want to waste it and you need to respect that.
Good luck to fellow hackers, persevere and do your best!

Being an internal side-project, it took us a while to be brave enough to make Kwiki public. Even though we've been using it internally for our clients since beginning of 2018, only now we feel confident to make it available to everyone. Originally, we didn't even think about making it into a SaaS product, we just built a tool for us. But since our clients started asking about it we decided to give it a shot!

We've been using Kwiki for a bit over 6 months now and we love it. Our clients love it and keep asking about it - "what is this tool you wrote the docs in?".
So we decided - we will put in more effort and make it public.
This requires a bit of work:
- we need to polish out all bugs and quirks we know of
- we need to add stuff like payments
- we need to find someone to help us with SEO, ads...
- we need to make an effort to reach out to people
- and I'm probably missing 10 more points, but we'll figure it out as we go
Good luck to us :)

Being an IT company for almost 6 years, we always struggled with writing good and simple documentation for our clients. We tried all of the solutions out there and ended up building our own!
