The saving vs finding split is the real thing here. Saving costs one click, finding costs a search you never feel like doing, so the pile just grows. I build Markwise, so I'm biased, but the "3 saves before it clicks" bit you mentioned sounds like the number worth designing the onboarding around.

The line about saving things to show people instead of finding them again is what made the idea click for me. That's a very different reason to bookmark something and I don't see many tools leaning into it.

It also feels like this could naturally be reaching a lot more organic traffic than it probably is right now. While you're still shaping the product that kind of pull can teach you a lot.

Did that thought cross your mind too?

Yes Absolutely! All of our public lists (public collection of links) are automatically indexed in Search Engines and are SEO friendly. So, they often show up in search results for common queries, like "Best places to visit in Spiti Valley in India"!

However, we're still in that stage where the flywheel is yet to pick up speed. Very early traction and not so many public lists yet.

Thanks for that query. Would love your feedback, do checkout the product: kyurations.in

That's exactly why it stood out to me. Reading your post and your reply, I noticed a few additional organic search opportunities that could help accelerate that flywheel as more public lists are created.

    Interesting distinction.

It sounds like you're separating collecting information from packaging it for someone else, rather than treating curation as better bookmarking.

Curious what you're seeing from people using it so far.

Those who save at least 3 items, are loving it! Their items auto-organise in shareable lists. They also chat with their past items - asking things like - "What coffee recepies have I saved". And they get accurate answers from what they've saved so far!

However, those who dropped off before 3 saves aren't actively using. They aren't able to find the "aha" moment / product value yet. I'm working on solving this right now.

That’s interesting context. The difference between users who reach that point and those who don’t is probably the part I’d be most interested in understanding further.

What’s the best email to reach you on?

Thanks! I’ve just sent it over.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts whenever you have a chance.

About

Every tool I tried was built so I could find a link again, and that was never why I saved anything. Kyurations is for the other pile: the things you keep to show someone, arranged into a page anyone can open.
