After planning to write the whole marketplace system from scratch this year, I decided to purchase a pre written Laravel app.

It was not well written, but had enough features and looked well enough to test the idea out.

Had a landing page up for a while and collecting 300 emails for interested freelancers.

After launching the MVP many of them registered and are offering services.

There were even a few sales that came through unexpectedly but, then traffic dropped off.

Next steps are to focus a little on SEO and talking with more people.
