Free single-purpose web tools β€” ad-free fullscreen for class

Maker here πŸ‘‹ I built these after seeing how many "free" classroom tools plaster ads across the projector the moment a teacher goes fullscreen. Everything runs client-side (student names never leave the device), works on any smartboard, and the seating chart generator handles the real-world rules β€” "these two cannot sit together" and "she needs the front row". Happy to answer anything, and requests are very welcome.

The detail about student names never leaving the device says a lot about who you actually built this for. That and handling real seating constraints feels like it came from watching teachers instead of guessing.

I can picture a teacher asking ChatGPT for a seating chart tool that won't throw ads onto the classroom projector five minutes before class starts. They probably don't care what it's called yet. They just want the one other teachers quietly rely on.

I'm curious if you've started hearing people recommend it to coworkers by describing that exact classroom moment instead of the features.

That's the exact reader I had in mind β€” thank you. The "quietly rely on" part is the whole goal: a teacher shouldn't have to think about where the class list goes, they just want the seating chart sorted before the bell (keep-apart pairs, front-row kids and all). Keeping names on-device wasn't a compliance checkbox for me β€” it was the only way I'd feel right handing this to a stranger's classroom. If you or a teacher you know ever kicks the tyres, I read every feature request, so feel free to ask for some.

What stood out to me is that you're treating privacy as a usability feature, not just a security feature.

For teachers, the biggest benefit isn't simply that student data stays local. It's that the tools work instantly without accounts, ads, or setup getting in the way of the classroom. That's a much stronger reason to adopt them.

Privacy as usability β€” that's exactly the framing I kept landing on. The moment a tool wants an account or throws a cookie banner up on the projector, you've added friction in front of 30 kids waiting for the lesson to start. So "runs instantly, nothing to sign into, no ads in the fullscreen view" and "your data never leaves the browser" turned out to be the same design decision, not two competing ones. Really appreciate you seeing that.

        I'm glad it resonated.

Reading your reply gave me one thought about what changes once privacy stops being a feature and becomes the default way people experience the product. I'd rather explain it in the context of what you're building than try to squeeze it into a few comments.

If you're interested, what's the best email to reach you on?

Genuinely interested β€” the shift from privacy-as-a-feature to privacy-as-the- default is the thing I keep circling back to, so I'd love to hear where your head's at on it. Best place to reach me is info@lans .cloud . Looking forward to it β€” thanks, Aryan.

Thanks! I’ve just sent it over.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts whenever you have a chance.
