Hey everyone! 👋
I’m excited to share LaunchNest LN with the Hacker News community today.
LaunchNest LN is built around a simple idea: make it easier for founders to launch their products and for people to discover new SaaS tools, startups, and useful products.
I’d love to hear your honest feedback — especially what you think could make product discovery and launching more useful for founders.

Nice concept! 🚀 LaunchNest LN looks like a useful platform for founders who want more visibility for their products.
I especially like the focus on making product discovery easier. One suggestion would be to highlight what makes LaunchNest different from existing platforms like Product Hunt and Indie Hackers. That could help users quickly understand its unique value.
Wishing you the best with the launch! Looking forward to seeing how the platform grows. 👏
Great to see a clean launch platform for indie products. Focusing on early-stage discovery is always a challenge, especially when competing with larger directories. How are you planning to tackle founder acquisition and keep the content quality high as more projects submit?
Thank you! 🙌 Founder acquisition is definitely one of the biggest challenges, and I’m thinking about it as a long-term process rather than trying to grow as quickly as possible.
For quality, I want LaunchNest to rely more on product usefulness and relevance rather than simply rewarding whoever gets the most votes. The AI-agent evaluation is part of that approach, helping us understand whether a product is actually useful and worth discovering.
As the platform grows, I’ll keep refining the system based on real products, users, and community feedback. 🚀
Nice work on shipping this! Discovery platforms are always needed, especially for early-stage builders. Checked out the link—interface is quick and responsive. Upvoted, looking forward to seeing how it grows!
Thank you so much for checking out LaunchNest and for the upvote! 🙌
I’m 19 and come from a small city in Pakistan. I’ve built quite a few tools, but one of the biggest challenges for me was always budget. I kept seeing launch platforms where you either had to pay to launch or add their badge to your website, and that made me think: why not build a platform where indie makers can launch their products for free?
That’s how LaunchNest started. Launches will always remain free. I may introduce optional sponsorship opportunities in the future, but they won’t be required to launch.
We do have an optional badge too, but we never require anyone to place it on their website. If a maker chooses to use the badge, it gives their product a verified status on LaunchNest, which is one of the benefits of adding it.
Really appreciate you checking it out and supporting the project! 🚀

Thanks a lot! And yes, you’re pretty close with your guess, but there’s an important difference in how we approach rankings.
Votes make up less than 50% of what we rely on for ranking. Our system also looks at the actual product itself. Our agents evaluate the product, understand what it does, and assess whether it’s genuinely useful, functional, and valuable to users. That helps determine where a product should rank.
Engagement and votes are still important because they come naturally from the community, but we don’t want LaunchNest to become a system where the product with the most engagement automatically wins.
Our goal is to give good products a chance to rank based on their actual quality and usefulness, not just the number of votes they receive.
And congrats on hitting #1 Product of the Week with LocalPatron! 🎉 36 votes and still taking the top spot is actually a great example of why we designed the ranking system this way.
