September 19, 2024 My process of building an MVP in 14 days.

This is a true story. I have a technical background (studied CS in college), but I hadn't coded anything in years maybe. So I agreed to meet with a software development company that offered to build my MVP for $1,500 in 6 weeks. The first week was dedicated to building the UI, and second week to creating the basic dashboard frontend. Right when we were about to start this project roadmap, I decided to move forward without this dev-team, as a solo developer. It took me 2 days to execute the first 2 weeks of this roadmap!

I already had high quality wireframes I had shared with them. So my first step was uploading these designs to ChatGPT & have it describe them in detail. Then I took the descriptions, and started developing the frontend using Cursor (with Claude Sonnet). It took me 2 days to build the skeleton frontend for the entire dashboard.

I kept going for 2 weeks, putting in roughly 8 hours/day, and I had my MVP. In 1/3rd of the overall time proposed by the development team.
