Leaf - Books & Reading Tracker
Build a reading habit. Finish more books.
He loves books, he picks them up, he reads a few chapters... and then life gets in the way. The book sits on the nightstand. A month later he starts a new one.
He didn't need more book recommendations. He needed something that would keep him going, day after day, without making him feel guilty when he missed a day.
So I built Leaf. You decide what a good reading day looks like for you - maybe 10 pages, maybe 30. The app reminds you, tracks your streak, and keeps you moving.
When I pitched the idea to my family, my brother immediately said: "I'd use that, but I don't need a habit. I need to finish a book by a specific date for my studies." That conversation turned into a second mode. You give Leaf a deadline, and it tells you how many pages to read each day to finish on time. Fall behind, it recalculates. Get ahead, it lets you know.
The name comes from the idea that a reading habit, like a plant, starts small and grows stronger the more you tend to it.
Leaf is currently in closed beta on Android. I'm looking for early testers - whether you already read regularly and want more structure, or you've been wanting to build the habit and just haven't found something that clicks. Either way, honest feedback is what I need most right now.
Key features:
Daily reading reminders at a pace you set
Flexible mode: set pages/day, app calculates your finish date
Deadline mode: set a target date, app guides you page by page
Reading streaks and permanent milestones: even if your streak breaks, what you've built stays yours. Missing a day doesn't erase your progress.
Fully offline, no account required
Free core features; Leaf Pro for cloud sync and multi-device
Who it's for: People who already read and want more structure and accountability, and people who want to read more but haven't been able to make it a real habit yet. Also students and professionals who need to finish books by a specific date.
About
I started building Leaf for my partner. He loves books, he picks them up, he reads a few chapters... and then life gets in the way. The book sits on the nightstand. A month later he starts a new one.
