I'm a developer and a terrible designer. Over the years, I'd cobbled together a decent looking design for my site. But it never looked truly professional.
Last month I bit the bullet, and bought Tailwind UI. The new site looks fabulous (I've already had many compliments). This will give teachers the confidence to publish and sell their books & courses on my site.
But I made one mistake: upgrading the entire site design while also upgrading a Rails major version. Bad idea!
I should have done it incrementally. Taking on a big upgrade ended up being a blocker for other more important features.
