I built Ledger AI — an AI financial analysis tool where you upload a bank statement (PDF or CSV) and get instant insights. No bank login. No Plaid. No open banking.

Today someone paid for the Business tier. I don't know how she found us yet. I emailed her to find out.

But here's what this validated for me:

The "no bank login" angle is real. Every competing tool asks you to connect your account. A lot of people — especially business owners and international users — don't want to do that. They just want to upload a file and get answers.

That's the entire product. Upload a statement. AI categorizes, analyzes, and explains every transaction. Spots subscriptions, flags anomalies, explains spending spikes. Instantly.

What I did to get here:

- Launched quietly with a free tier

- Started a content calendar on LinkedIn focused on privacy + AI finance

- Did zero paid ads

- Built in public (kind of — starting to do this more)

Revenue: first dollar (well, first month of Business tier)

Users: early

Channel: unknown (finding out)

Most finance apps want your bank login. Most people don't trust that.

So I built Ledger AI differently -you upload a PDF statement, and AI analyzes it like a financial analyst would. Spending patterns, subscription creep, cashflow shifts, hidden waste. In seconds. No bank login. No data selling.

The core insight: the data was never the problem. Interpretation was.
