January 19, 2022 Hitting ~$100 MRR

For the last 4 months, Letterflix is doing between $50 to $80 in MRR organically. In this month (January 2022), we are very close to clocking $100 monthly revenue.

The organic growth that Letterflix picked in the last 4 months is very satisfying. It's ranked well on several important keywords on Google search and we are getting users from around the world. India still gives us 70% of the monthly users, USA and EU are catching up.

January 1, 2021 Branding updates

We asked one of our designer friends (who works at another startup) to help us with the content design for our Instagram, envelop, and merch.

He took a few days to come up with awesome new ideas for our merch. We recently ordered tote bags and placed order for t-shirts. This was done on the request of some our customers who really wanted to show-off that they send letters. Our tote bag says "Send Letters, Send Love."

November 10, 2020 Major Update

In the beginning, we only supported payments in the Indian currency. But we had the capacity to ship internationally. And we also figured ways to locally print letters in the USA for those who send letters in USA.

We added support for Stripe and boom! After working on for two days straight, we finally had Letterflix enabled to send letters anywhere in the world.

October 5, 2020 MVP Launch

As soon as the first version was ready, we tried it ourselves to send a letter at our own address.

FYI: This is how it works. We partnered with a printing facility in Delhi (India) who has got automated printing and packaging units that they use for large scale printing. We tied up with them to provide us automated printing/packaging for our letters.

The test letter arrived within a week. That was a great moment for us. We immediately sent the link among our friends and they instantly liked the concept. Several of our friends and friends-of-friends tried Letterflix to send letters. And we made several tiny improvements based on their feedback.

September 1, 2020 The work begins

Me and Mofid (@ansarimofid) are co-founders at Hapramp (Building GoSocial app). We've got a lot of work to do, so we only work on side projects on the weekends. Thus, we take several months to make real progress.

We set out to build this before Christmas 2019. But @ansarimofid ended up making it within a month (that is, 4 weekends).

March 5, 2019 Came up with the idea

I wrote a letter to someone really close to me. Got it printed, got an envelope, went to the nearest post office, and sent it via courier.

The reaction that I got was overwhelming. So I wrote a few more letters to those who are close to me. This got us thinking, we should make something using which people can send letters online. And then the work began.
