AI fun tweets, spin wheels, and arrogant Boss Mode decisions
I’ve always hated how traditional ads break the user experience. Banners are ugly, and tracking cookies are a privacy nightmare.
So, while building my suite of 9 mini-apps (like a Meme Generator, an Oracle, and a Spin Wheel), I decided to try something different. I wanted the ads to be part of the joke.
The Concept: AI as an Ad Copywriter
Instead of calling a bloated ad network script, my app uses the AI's output to generate a contextual product search.
* Example: A user asks the Spin Wheel which instrument is best to annoy neighbors.
* Result: "Bongos. May your neighbors' patience shatter."
* The Ad: The AI instantly suggests a "Soundproof blanket" on Amazon or a "Bongo set" on AliExpress.
Why this model works for me:
* Zero Tracking, Zero Cookies: I don't use any plugins or scripts. It’s 100% "Pure Links." No GDPR headache, and the site is lightning-fast.
* High Engagement: Because the ad reacts to the user's specific (and often weird) input, it feels like an "Easter Egg" rather than a commercial break.
The Tech Stack
* UI: Custom-built (I handle all the display myself to keep it clean and "serein").
* Monetization: A rotation between Amazon and other marketplaces. If you generate a second result, the store changes.
* Search-based: I don't link to specific products (which can die). I link to search queries. If the item is too absurd to exist, the search result itself becomes part of the fun.
The takeaway: You don't need invasive tracking to monetize. Sometimes, a well-timed joke and a simple affiliate link are more effective than any tracking pixel.
I'm curious: have you ever tried "hard-coding" your ads into the product logic instead of using a network?
About
I started building likeaboss.fun just for the fun of creating an arrogant "Boss Mode" AI. But while building these 9 mini-apps, I realized that AI could generate contextual search links. Could lead to monetization
