I was writing my first children's book and my goal was that this particular alphabet book needs to work in three different languages. So, I was planning, structuring, writing, editing etc in three languages in parallel. During one of the work-intense sessions of adapting chapters, I was thinking about other self-publishing children's book authors. The vast majority writes in one language and still, they want to reach the most amount of readers. Language choices shouldn't stop stories from reaching far away people and bookshelves. Since translating and adapting picture books is a very complex process of translating, adapting illustrations, and even changing artwork details, I was sure that I wanted to give self-published children's book authors a way to make it work easily.
Today's technology makes it happen. Using translation engines with AI polishes to keep the author's words, illustrations and art details. This way, self-published picture book authors can use their existing distribution channels to reach a wider audience.
