Link Cards

A little over a week ago I had some time to whip up a quick prototype of a service I have been wanting for a while. I had recently published, Pkg Stats, and wanted an easy way to generate custom share images for each of the package and user pages on the site. I had explored a few options, but realized that none of them offered the flexibility, nor reusability that I was looking for, so I figured, "Why not!? 🤷‍♂️".

I was able to take the prototype and refine and simplify it a bit, and then built the authentication and admin features to allow for projects to be created and have a custom subdomains for generating and hosting the share images for sites.

Once I had that working, I was able to integrate into Pkg Stats and now have all share images on that site being generated and hosted through the service. I plan on monitoring that a bit more and addressing any issues that might pop-up while I continue to build out some of the admin features and subscription stuff.
