Linkz.ai
Smart link auto-previews that keep visitors on your website
Over the last couple of months, Linkz.ai saw a good number of new sign-ups. User requests are usually bundled into 3 categories:
1. Where is the dark mode?
Happy to report that Dark mode has landed on all usage plans. 🎉
2. Link preview for a particular website does not work
Happy to report that the LInkz.ai script that dramatically improved support for rich media link previews and all user requests to date has been addressed.
3. How do I install linkz.ai script on my website?
I'm currently in a process of structuring the help center with all the articles on how to integrate LInkz.ai in various website builders, e.g. Webflow
Bonus update. The usage on some accounts were so high that it broke the analytics dashboard. Happy to report that I've re-built the Analytics dashboard to support accounts with high usage. 🎉
I did the Product Hunt campaign for Linkz.ai. We did ok, got over 500 upvotes, and finished on 4th place for the day. One tip that could’ve helped is immediate upvotes as soon as the product has been posted. We didn’t have that, as the result, for the first part of the day we were down in the leaderboard and were missing on the organic upvotes. As soon as my community started to upvote, we started to pick up organic upvotes and got into the top 5.

The result:
- 500+ upvotes
- 4th place
- 1.3K visits
- 50 signups to Free plan
- 3 signups to a paid plan
- 3 articles in big web design blogs that generated quality traffic

When talking to early adopters and people who were interested at first but never finalized a subscription, the common thing was that people wanted to try the product before entering credit card information.
At first, I was hesitant about the free plan, since I'm incurring costs providing the service, even at limited capacity. It took a while to come up with a solution that made sense economically and provided value to the people who wanted to try.
New Free Plan on Linkz.ai consists of:

In the copy, you focus on the benefits for the end-user first ("makes your website visitors happy & engaged, so that they have no reason to leave") with the website owner's benefit (SEO) being "a side effect".
I suggest that you pick up a specific niche (content marketing experts) instead of a generic one (website owners) and show them the numbers which would show them a clear ROI for using your product. You can start with cold-reaching content marketing agencies and mentors (e.g. on LinkedIn) and strike affiliate deals so that they could recommend your tool to their clients. Such clients are more eager to part with their money than a random website owner who just wants their user to feel happy.

This is an awesome idea. If I had a blog or some other content-based website with external links, I would 100% use a paying plan.

Don't all social platforms already give a description popup when you link?
Why would you need this for your website? If a user is already on your website they've shown interest - so if they check a video they probably just want to see the video, right? Not a description preview of the video.
Maybe I'm just misunderstanding the web copy.

I can see the confusion. Definitely need a better copy to explain the use case.
Linkz.ai use case is different - it's previewing links within the content piece on your website. For example, you have a news article or a blog post with hyperlinks, when hovering over them, Linkz.ai will show a popup with a hyperlink preview. Sometimes previews contain enough information for visitors not to click on a hyperlink and exit your website, instead, they continue browsing your website.

I disagree with this. From an SEO and authority perspective, you want users to click hyperlinks, regardless if it's exactly what they're looking for or not. If they hover and don't click, you don't get a 'conversion', a user spends less time on your website, and Google ranks your site as low-quality.
As a website owner, I want people to explore video and hyperlinked content by clicking instead of a preview blurb popping up.
If a web owner isn't interested in SEO and website authority, this is a cool feature. You're fighting the SEO/SERP/Authority Ranking industry though.

I might be not communicating the example well, as SEO is actually one of the proven benefits of using the script :)
If you are a publisher, like BBC, you reference external sources & extra materials in your articles. Google likes when you hyperlink external references. BBC would like you to stay on their website, instead of clicking on external hyperlinks and leaving forever.
When BBC installs Linkz.ai script, visitors get some of the hyperlinked content within the BBC website. Likelihood of visitors leaving decreased, their avg. session time increases. Win for SEO & Win for the UX :)
Linkz.ai example within publisher's website:

I love how Wikipedia innovated link previews and made browsing the encyclopedia website so much more efficient. I want to make browsing the Web as efficient as Wikipedia.
