Listadum
Shop and listing analyzer to help Etsy Sellers boost sales.
Yay! It took some time, but Etsy finally approved Listadum for a commercial API key. 10,000 requests per day, that's not much, but that's certainly something to start with. This will allow the website to open publicly and onboard any shop owner. Time to tidy up the landing page and launch for real.
I bought the listadum.com domain name, deployed the first version of the app, and onboarded my first 5 users into beta to see how they use it. At this stage, I don't have a commercial API key for Etsy, so a beta program is the best I can do to open the platform to somebody else than me. Listadum now has 5 shops testing the platform, let's see what the tool looks like with different sizes of shops, looking forward to getting their feedback.

I assume I did something wrong with the API but didn't get any notice/email.
This whole "Developers test their Etsy API applications on production." is scary, and what's scarier is seeing that your entire business, should you choose to build it on top of someone else's platform, is at the whim of a fraud detection system and could disappear overnight.

As a weekend challenge, I decided to start tinkering with the Etsy API to see what could be done. My wife and I have an Etsy shop and we were always curious to see if we could automate some aspect of the work. First and foremost, I'd like to analyze our listings to see what's worth investing into. Posted a little something on twitter, requested an API key from Etsy and after a few hours, a first prototype was ready.

As Etsy shop owners, my wife and I can see the struggle that goes into making a successful shop. It's hard to know if products are not selling because they're not interesting to buyers or if they don't find an audience.
