Lists to live by – Checklists for all areas in your life.
I’m so happy that I finally accomplished this milestone! Especially, because it is such a dull one! 🥵
In past projects I procrastinated this part almost all the time. So this time I put it in front of my list to get it out of the way.
The most fun part was creating a small vue component for the cookie consent banner: https://gist.github.com/acsany/774f76d84ae8ea7e9412acfeb906c934
I ended up using these generators:
- Privacy Policy: https://www.privacypolicygenerator.info/
- Terms Of Service: https://getterms.io/ -- Thanks for the recommendation, @bjplink
- Impressum: https://www.e-recht24.de/impressum-generator.html
Now on to the more fun parts again! 🥳
listoliby.com is live with its first checklists! 🎉
The goals I stated in my first post are all reached: https://www.indiehackers.com/product/lists-to-live-by/preparing-production-mvp-launch--MJXYHoqm1kxUiY74ZDE
✅ a basic landing page
✅ 5 checklists
✅ Checklists look good when printed
The next steps are:
🔲 Minor style improvements
🔲 Finishing the legal pages
🔲 Adding 5+ checklists

what's the goal of this site ? are you going to monetize it ?

Watching the website I've made myself the same questions. How would you monetize it? Btw that's a super clean design..A bit anonymous but cool :)

I don't know, the service seems a little bit useless isn't it ?

@El_crocodilo @N1ketas You raise a very good point!
To be honest, I don’t have ideas to monetize it yet. I’m a big fan of checklists, but I think it is really hard to gain that many users so pro-features or affiliate links would make sense.
My main objective of this project is to dive deep into the tech stack (Django, vue.js, DevOps) and add features that former project of mine did not have (i.e. REST Api, user registration). And who knows, maybe the project shifts along the way that makes monetization more obvious :)

maybe you can make a system for letting your users creating private checklist and sell it to their audience easily (and create a marketplace on your front-page ?)

Private checklists are on the roadmap already. The marketplace/audience-sale is a really interesting idea! Do you know services that provide a similar model?

Thank you for your feedback!
Could you elaborate on "a bit anonymous"? You mean the design itself or more the content/checklists?

The last days I did some homework in the background:
- Favicons
- Meta info
- Email addresses
- Fix links
I also added analytics (currently using @asimon’s panelbear.com) so I’m almost all set for the MVP launch.
Next steps are adding the first 5 public checklists.
If all goes well, I can launch the MVP this weeken :)

Students, I’m one of you, so I know the community’s desires and troubles. All of us can get the required time to study, party, and travel if there is an expert to write homework. My recommendation is here: https://proessays.net/. They can handle any assignment perfectly.

Before the domain listoliby.com showed the ugly placeholder site from the domain provider. Now that I share the domain name here and on other places, I decided to quickly create a placeholder site.
There is currently no functionality except a link to https://twitter.com/listoliby -- where bigger milestones and new lists will be announced.
Some technical notes
The vue.js frontend for this landing page does not send any requests to the Django backend. That way I was able to skip the backend deploy for now and only push the master branch to GitHub with and auto deploy to render.com.
Also I’m currently waiting for the DNS records and certificates to update, so listoliby.com is working correctly.

With my indiehackers.com sign up, I’m stepping out of my development environment to be more public about listoliby.
The deployment flow for the staging site is in place. Next step is to launch the MVP to the main domain.
The goals for the MVP are to have a basic landing page, 5 checklists that look good when printed.

Checklists are a great way to simplify read-do or read-confirm information. With listoliby.com I want to create a library of checklists that are easily printable for everyday use.
