LiteStream Viewer
View Files Without Downloading
After a lot of work, I'm excited to share that LiteStream Viewer is now available for download on the Google Play Store.
Tagline: View Files Without Downloading
The idea behind LiteStream Viewer is simple: before downloading a file to your device, you should be able to view it first.
We often download PDFs, documents, images, and other files only to discover they're not what we need. Those files then remain on our devices, consuming storage and creating clutter.
LiteStream Viewer helps solve this by allowing users to preview files before deciding whether they want to download them.
Why I built it
Reduce unnecessary downloads
Save device storage
Help users quickly inspect files
Keep devices cleaner and more organized
Current status
Available now on the Google Play Store
I'd love feedback from the Indie Hackers community:
Would viewing files before downloading be useful for you?
What file types would you want supported?
What features would make this more valuable?
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and suggestions.
About
It all started one evening when I wanted to cross reference an information from a PDF and am done but ended up downloading it first, despite I don't really need this file to sit on my device. Then it pops up...

I wonder if the value ends up being less about saving storage and more about reducing decision mistakes.
Most wasted downloads are really people trying to answer: "Is this actually the file I think it is?"
I'd be curious which of those motivations shows up more often once people start using it.
