Little Tagger
Hassle-free file tagging
This version includes new features, which I wasn't able to finish for the initial release. In addition, I added some changes that some users requested. I haven't received lots of feedback yet, so it is not hard to prioritize features.
However, I'm asking myself two things:
- How can I motivate users to provide feedback?
- How can I incentivize users to spread the word and share the app with others?
In the first 24h after release, the app managed to climb into the top 20 productivity apps of the App Store charts. For a short moment in time, the app occupied #18. This was super exciting and felt really good, as I wasn't expecting anything like that.
Now, it's on a downwards trend, as it cannot keep the sales momentum of the launch. Let's see how long it takes until it's entirely dropped off the visible charts.

After spending a month polishing the app, transforming it from a developer helper utility to a more user-friendly app for the menu bar, I'm glad to announce that Little Tagger is available on the Mac App Store.
I'm super excited and scared at the same time. This is my first app, that I've ever released to the public. I've had so many questions about what the 'right' way of launching it would be. At the end, I decided I have to just do it and react if needed.
I deliberately avoided adding any usage or diagnostic analytics into the app. That means, I'm totally relying on direct user feedback. Let's see how that goes.

The app originated from a little helper utility, which I built, while developing my other app, Taggy Tagger. It is quite useful to me, so I thought others might feel the same.
