October 28, 2024 Milestone: Frontend Development completed

The basic frontend functionality for the platform has been built out. This has been a tremendous learning curve as I havn't tackled a project of this size before. The current state of the frontend allows us to test staging functionality amongst ourselves thoroughly and gain feedback from stakeholders.

The basic API functionality for the platform has been built out including basic authentication and CRUD operations. There will be more features and functionality to implement in the future. The current APIs that are developed will allow me to begin working on the application frontend.

July 26, 2024 The Technology Stack

I’ve chosen a technology stack to use for the project, it will consist of:

  • ✅ React.JS, TypeScript to build the frontend applications.
  • ✅ PHP and Laravel to build the backend applications.
  • ✅ Amazon Web Services for cloud hosting.
  • ✅ Terraform (infrastructure as code) for cloud disaster recovery.
  • ✅ Git for version control.
  • ✅ Stripe to process payments.
  • ✅ Cloudflare for security and proxy.
  • ✅ GitBook for documentation.

These are all technologies that I am familiar and comfortable working with.

July 23, 2024 Hello Indie Hackers!

Hi, Indie Hackers. I'm Owen, a software developer from Australia. I graduated from univerity in 2023 and landed a full-time job for a large software company. I like my full-time job, but I want to go further.

I've browsed indiehackers for years looking at the success of other projects. I've decided to challenge myself and build a freight matching service. The domains are purchased, and I'm going to begin building.

Good luck Owen! If you want to try https://uclusion.com for task management I can offer you a free for life discount that will apply even when you have more users.

Out of curiosity what will be the difference between your service and say https://www.fleetops.ai?

Hi David, I believe this is a growing space. Our platform will connect shippers with couriers across different industries. While there may not be much difference between existing products I believe there is much room for competition.
