April 2020 We have paying members!

Not a lot, but a few to get us some money rolling in each month.. Since this is a side hustle, we haven't been putting in as much time as we should to market our app, but now that we have quiet a bit more time.. we're back at it! Once we're all allowed to travel again, we need to expand our market to reach more pet owners in the Portland metro area and beyond. The pet owners that sign up, the more we can all save on pet care.

August 2019 Rolled out our paying subscription

After getting all the member feedback and our ducks in a row with our contracted dev ops team, we are ready to launch our 'Basic' subscription. We hit over 1000 members, but none of them are paying yet. So we worked with a team out of Guadalajara and had them add some features our members wanted. Let's see if anyone will pay! Fingers crossed.

July 2018 Hit 600 member signups!

Feedback is super important. Once we hit 600 members, I called them all for feedback on their experience so far. I've done smaller 'super' member interviews, but nothing to this extent. I called them all up, took about 18 hrs total, and got some amazing feedback that will help us moving forward.

July 2017 Launched MVP in Portland

Our tech engineer (aka my husband) worked for about 6 weeks, mostly nights and weekends, to create our LocalDawgs app. He always wanted to try to make an app and I had just the idea. He used React Native, Fire Base and Node services running on Docker. He said it was pretty seamless to create the app and within a fraction of the time it normally would. Excited to get pet owners signed up and testing it out!

March 3, 2016 Had a problem without a solution..

I was having a hard time finding someone to watch my dog when I traveled for work or went on vacation that didn’t cost a ton of money or that I didn’t feel like I was burdening my friends. When I realized I shared this problem with a lot of other pet owners, I decided to do something about it and co-founding LocalDawgs with my brother.

About

LocalDawgs is the solution to a big problem I had of paying too much for pet sitting. It's a great alternative to expensive pet care and an added bonus of meeting new people in your community.
