Locale
The Laravel localization tool
I'm glad that a few days after the launch of Locale, we reached the first 50 registered users in one week.
Note: it’s a little fake because we got those numbers in a week, but the work has started days before
Later I will make a post in more detail explaining the steps we are following these first weeks to get visits to the web and new users.
Right now, we're in a conversion rate (web visitors vs. registered users) of about 5%, a figure I feel comfortable with at the moment.
The work of these days has helped us a lot to reach this first milestone by posting on social networks, being active and submitting the product to different webs. In this case, Laravel News and its social channels have been the primary traffic sources.
I am excited to live this moment and waiting to see how the project continues to grow.
At Creagia, the software development agency where I work, we continuously program software projects. We specialize in Laravel.
And one of the most challenging points to solve with clients is precisely the translation of the interface (especially when they have multi-language). Clients start by saying what they want you to put in. Lately, then sell corrections, which often become more consistent and end up in a request: I want to be able to edit the texts in my interface directly.
And even more so when this interface is public, a landing or marketing page, or is the corporate website.
And they are absolutely right.
On the one hand, it makes perfect sense for customers, their team, marketers, copywriters and translators, to have a tool at their disposal where they can quickly and conveniently manage translations of their product interface.
At the same time, the developers manage it in a clear, comfortable way, being in control at all times of what is happening, and we do not risk directly with the management of the translations.
It's for this reason that seeing this need and observing at the same time that there was no tool explicitly born to manage the translations in Laravel that we decided to create it.
And this is how the Locale road begins, a tool for managing location in Laravel.
Stay tuned!
