Developer friendly Geofencing as a Service

Visit Website
April 2021 Had the idea

I am working on a multi-tenant project where we have mobile hardware equipment that measures telemetry data of cars and agricultural equipment and sends it to a server. The requirement was to implement geofencing to alert users when their cars or equipment entered or left certain places.

I did some research and found products that offered geofencing as a service, but they were either hard to implement or expensive, meaning that there was no real pay as you go payment model or small increases in different subscription plans. It went from free, which wasn't sufficient for our needs, straight up to a 500$ / month plan, which was way too expensive.

Thus, I started to implement geofencing myself for the project and decided to use the knowledge I gained along the way to turn geofencing into a business model to offer affordable and developer-friendly geofencing to those that don't have the time or resources to do it themselves.

I was working on a project that needed geofencing and I stumbled upon all sorts of services, which were either very expensive or hard to implement. I wanted geofencing to be easy to implement and affordable.
