LOGOPOLLS

Polling Service for Logo Designers who are on the fence.

Visit Website
October 23, 2019 Over 100 Visitors This Week!

I'D LIKE YOUR OPINION ON SOMETHING AT THE END OF THIS POST, IF IT'S TOO LONG, JUST SCROLL DOWN. πŸ˜‰

It's a small milestone, but since I've started many projects without ever really launching anything, it feels great to finally have generated some initial traffic to a decent MVP! 😁

So far in October, but actually since the 18th, I've had

147 visitors on logopolls.com

I only posted an intro on 2 related subreddits, which generated around 90% of the traffic, and the IH subreddit, which didn't really work. πŸ˜„

So far, the visitors have been voting quite a bit, but nobody has submitted Logos or even signed up for the newsletter.

The plan now is to start posting more polls on the website and on social media. I'll take logos off instagram until people start submitting them. I'll also start to DM Logo Designers on instagram to tell them about the service.

With some feedback from those designers and possible optimizations, I'll post to more relevant subreddits and will look for other ways to reach the audience (i.e. Slack, FB Groups, Twitter, etc.).

To start getting newsletter subscribers, I'll create some incentive like a PDF with links to resources or something like that.

I also just wrote the first blog post, but won't publish it until I have at least 3 articles ready.

Let's see how it goes! I have to say, being active on IH has really motivated me to actually get something done for once! So, thank you guys! πŸ˜„πŸ€˜πŸ½

QUESTION

I'm thinking about changing the tagline/slogan to:

"Make Logos Great Again"
or
"Which Logo Are You Voting For?" (or maybe "WHAT Logo Are..."?)

I'm usually pretty good with that stuff, but I'm struggling with the slogan for LP, don't even really like any of the two options, so happy to hear your ideas! πŸ˜„

Hey Fabian! I think you are really onto something here. People are constantly torn between logo options and your platform is a very specific place for them to get that feedback.

Here's my advice. If I'm going to a site like yours I want to be able to immediately engage with it. I don't think you need a "Home" page. I think you need to immediately get into the polling. The landing page is just a stream of polls. Then I can get in and start voting right away. If the user has some engagement immediately, they may be more likely to remember to revisit it when they have work of their own to share.

I know this is an MVP, but I think there is a lot of really helpful work that could be done to make this site more accessible to people in terms of UX/UI.

Also, while I know the primary point of this site is to get poll results between concepts, I think you've also got an interesting approach for some competitions as well. If you had competitions and awards, that might skyrocket engagement as well.

I sell a product specifically for logo designers and I have a ton of affiliates in the logo design space. Perhaps I could connect you with them.

Jonathan Rudolph from LogoInspirations for example.

    Let's chat :)

October 18, 2019 Re-Launched the MVP (on Reddit too, kind of...)

Hey Hacker!

So, after launching the MVP v1.0 of LOGOPOLLS.com 2 weeks ago, I also started a blog on medium, about YOU!

-> https://www.indiehackers.com/product/indietools

-> https://medium.com/indietools

Around 2 days after launching, I noticed that neither the submission-form, nor the polling plugin were working anymore and got a little frustrated (f**king WordPress plugins πŸ™„).

Because the MVP wasn't ideal to begin with (nothing is automated), and because I had just started the blog, I kinda ignored LOGOPOLLS for a few days and put a Coming Soon page up.

Now, I just relaunched the LOGOPOLLS MVP v2.0 (😜) with two new plugins and even wrote a little intro post on two* related Subreddits:

https://www.reddit.com/r/logodesign/comments/djgzm2/logopolls_which_is_your_favorite_logo/

*as I just noticed, the second one was flagged and deleted because I have a new account πŸ˜…

I would appreciate an Upvote! πŸ˜„ (Reddit is so mean compared to IH)

Hoping to use this MVP for a proof of concept and then i can hopefully find a developer who can build an actual, working tool that's scaleable.. As far as I - as a non-techie - can tell, it should be pretty easy and fast to build.. πŸ˜…

Let me know what you think!

October 3, 2019 Finished MVP

As a non-technical founder with decent WordPress skills, I decided to build an MVP on WP instead of Bubble.

It's not ideal, especially because nothing is automated, but I think I can figure out how to automate it soon.

Right now, the Designer can submit the Logos in a form. I will then receive the image and form content to an email and from there I have to manually post the Poll on logopolls.com.

I will also share the Logos on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. Right now I schedule the posts using Hootsuite, but I think I'll have to post manually so I can add the Poll feature on FB and Twitter.

The first step is to grow (especially) the Instagram account, because those "polls" are happening there right now (with comments and then manual counting).

I'm trying to do that by reposting as many logo grids from existing posts as possible, using a lot of hashtags and when I find the time, I'll also engage with related content and accounts (comments, DMs).

I just went live 2 hours ago with the first post to instagram and now I'll try to get some traffic from voters to the site, where I uploaded a few designs I found on Instagram (-> Chicken/Egg, Marketplace).

Wish me luck! πŸ˜‰

hey zahid, thanks for your feedback! Why do you suggest a maximum of 4 logos? :)

yeah, that's true.. but on the other hand, i can't really limit the amount of logos, if the designer has 6, or 7 options... if i tell him to choose 4, it would definitely cut down on conversions (uploads).. and he might even think, if i can go from 9 to 4, i can also go from 4 to just choosing the final logo...

i think i'll keep it open for now, but might limit it in the future, when it's a little established

About

I want to build a community of Logo enthusiasts to help Designers with the decision for the final version of a Logo. The goal is to grow the audience enough to charge for polls, or at least to sell some related products.
