About two weeks after I started to deliberately share LudoTune with more people, someone shared it to Hackernews and it ended up sitting in the top 20 for about 12 hours (reaching the top 8 for a short while). This resulted in more page views in one day than over the whole two weeks previous! Although the quality of the traffic (based on bounce rate and visit duration) was expectedly much lower than from other more targeted sources.

August 12, 2021 First 1K visitors and first donation!

After a year of quietly working on LudoTune on-and-off, I finally felt it was ready for more eyes. Until this point, the only 'marketing' I had done was fairly inconsistent posts on Instagram and a presentation at Web Audio Conference. While I definitely think these efforts were worthwhile for the people I met, the experience and the small amount of interest that was gradually building around LudoTune, unsurprisingly the actual traffic and number of users was still negligible.

This week I've been sharing LudoTune much more widely via communities on Reddit and other forums, and within a couple of days I reached 1K visitors! It feels great to have people now actually using LudoTune and to see how creative they're being with it. I've also been able to get some great feedback and suggestions, and even my first donation!
