April 7, 2026 Introducing LYDRA Finance: A Finance App for People Who Hate Filling Out Forms.

Hello Indie Hackers! 👋

I’m Roshaan, and I’m excited to finally introduce LYDRA Finance.

I built LYDRA because I was tired of the "data entry wall" that comes with most finance apps. Every time, I’d download a high-rated app, use it for three days, and then quit because the manual data entry felt like a second job.

If I have to fill out a form for a $4 coffee, I'm just not going to do it.

So I built LYDRA Finance. An expense tracker where the AI does the heavy lifting.

How I’m handling it:

  • No more forms: You just snap a photo of a receipt, upload a PDF invoice, or send a voice note saying "Spent $12 on lunch at Subway."

  • AI does the "boring" part: It extracts the data, converts the currency (handy since I'm based in Pakistan), and structures the entry.

  • Human-in-the-loop: It shows you what it found, you tap "Confirm," and you're done in about 5 seconds.

Core Features

  • Income & Expense Tracking: Track both sides of your finances to see your real net savings rate.

  • No Bank Connection Required: Full privacy by design. You stay in control of your data.

  • Multi-Currency Support: Log in 166+ currencies with real-time exchange rates (perfect for digital nomads).

  • AI Financial Assistant: Ask plain-English questions about your spending, like "How much did I spend on coffee last month?"

  • Automatic Recurring Detection: LYDRA identifies subscriptions and retainers and tracks them after your confirmation.

Why no bank connection?

I know a lot of apps use Plaid or Salt Edge, but I wanted something privacy-first. No bank logins, no syncing issues—just a tool that works anywhere in the world.

I’ve been bootstrapping this solo and just launched the web app. iOS and Android apps are currently in review and will be launched soon. I'm also doing localized pricing for different regions to keep it accessible.

Two honest questions for the community

  1. Does "no bank connection required" feel like a feature to you, or does it feel like something is missing?

  2. What's the #1 reason you've stopped using an expense tracker in the past?

Harsh feedback or kind feedback — both are genuinely useful. Happy to answer anything. 🙏

About

I built LYDRA Finance because manual data entry is tedious. LYDRA lets you log expenses naturally via receipts, voice, or chat while AI handles the structuring. The whole thing takes about five seconds.
