Magic Reader
Teaching kids how to read English through phonics.
The app was launched on the Apple app store. Now I'm working more on the marketing side to drive more users to the app. My target will be to get 100 users in a month's time. I'm also going to start looking for partners to see if they can help with out reach and the future development of the app.
I got more parents to help me to test the product. I was looking to see if they would come back to the app. Happily they would come back quite regularly to the app, which showed that apart from us, there was some use for it :). At the same time, I reached out to an expert who gave me some great advice on the app. As a result from all the feedback the app was adjusted.

I put together the first iteration of the app. It only had five lessons at the beginning, just to test if the lessons would be effective with my kids. I saw good results, I could see that my kids were actually retaining the phonics more and that there reading was improving. I also started to test with other parents.

Staying at home with the kids teaching them English. Came up with the idea of the Magic Reader. Teaching my kids through the use of phonics. I've used apps with my kids before but found many to be too distracting and they ended up not learnign much from them. I was also worried that they might be detrimentally affecting their attention spans. I wanted to build a simple app to resolve this.

To introduce kids to the magic of Reading. To give parents and teachers around the world a better way to teach their kids English reading, which is not distracting.
