February 16, 2020 New User Interface!

I've added a much more simple UI for the frontend of Hay Bale. Now the site loads directly into the function of the app; making lists, instead of making you read about it first. All feedback is welcome! Here is a link to the site now, I changed the name on the Github repo. https://brandondh.github.io/HayBale/

June 10, 2019 After some tinkering

https://brandondh.github.io/mail-bale/ has been updated with a very different UI. I understate things in my visual design, especially typography. The new UI puts Type ate the front of the concept.

I'd love any kind of feedback on this direction.

No steps have been taken to monetize - just to make this more helpful.

May 5, 2019 I'm changing the name of my app!

I'm changing the name of my little app from Mail Bale to Hay Bale.

Originally I built this to help people in my office format email lists - I've broadened that slightly; after some helpful and smart input on a previous post https://www.indiehackers.com/post/615d06dc92,
to include anyone who has to format large lists (data entry type applications). Mail makes less sense for that, so I asked my wife about it, and after some chatting she said "How about Hay Bale?". That name fits the concept perfectly, so it's a no brainer to swap it up a little.

May 3, 2019 Converted Python Script to JS

I took some of the feedback from my previous posts. Odds are if you can clone a repo and implement the original script you can probably write it yourself.

So I decided I'd build a UI to use the feature and make it more accessible to a broader user group. I used JS instead of Python to build the UI, rewrite the logic in the script. There's also lots of room to add some formatting buttons.

April 27, 2019 Skeleton.css !

Skeleton css was really useful here. It is just unique enough that it stands out from the typical Bootstrap styles (which I use all the time). I recommend branching out to Skeleton if you want more freedom with your style and markup options.

I missed that it's not being maintained anymore! Milligram looks like a good alternative, thanks @Fetch

April 27, 2019 Buy Me A Coffee

Adding the option to donate money to me was oddly easy. I thought asking for money would be harder - it may still be, this is just a button on my page that is voluntary, but I'm still excited to have it there.

My fellow team members at my day job were doing this monotonous task so I decided to help by writing the Python 3 script to automate their work.
