Maildown
The easiest way to send transactional emails
I just launched a new version of the https://maildown.dev landing page, adding a new layout, the ability to send a test email without logging in, and some images showing sample REST calls to the API. I’m hoping to increase conversions of landing page visitors
I just posted about my new startup on IndieHackers - As I haven't done any validation on this (not really required as it took such a short time to build), I am currently trying to see what kind of appetite there is for this sort of app and whether there's a market for it

Hey, this is cool and seems really simple! You may want to adjust your pricing though since MailGun has 5k emails a day for free. Just a thought!

Thanks for the feedback - I imagine I’ll
need to some experimentation with pricing. I need to look at all the big providers and think about where to position it

I managed to design and build the Maildown MVP in 2 days, by rehashing some old code I had for the purpose. I haven't really done any validation for the idea, but it answers I problem that I have personally (the amount of time it takes me to set up transactional email on a project).

The first time I tried to get Maildown off the ground was as an open-source project, which got some good attention earlier on, but ultimately I have neglected somewhat and now no longer maintain. However, I do still regularly use the source code for other projects, and have long considered the possibility of trying to productize it

I find that setting up emails for my various side projects over the years is always such a chore - all the main providers seem extremely similar and overly bloated. Maildown is a simpler way to email
