Launched on ProductHunt

I just submitted the site to Product Hunt: https://www.producthunt.com/posts/maker-reads

I have zero experience with project launched and hence tried to keep everything as simple as possible. I added a few screenshots, the logo, and a short description. Moreover, I tried submitting the project "at the right time" to make sure it has the whole day to collect votes.

Any feedback or comment would be greatly appreciated.

Jakob, thanks for building this. Was looking for something like this. Here are few UI tips to make the project even better:

    1. Hovering over each entry should make the cursor to a click pointer, instead of the current text cursor. I didn't first realize that I can click each entry to see the details.
    2. The actionable icons (amazon, goodreads, producthunt) should be colorful so visitors know what to click. They should standout. Right now the are not noticeable much.
    3. The category labels should not have a white background, they are standing out too much and looks like buttons. Since they are not actionable elements, they should not be highlighted much.

    Regards

    Great job! :)

I too, have zero experience with launching projects. By "the right time" you mean 10 AM UTC?

I read the book "MAKE" by Pieter Levels in which he explains: "The timing of a launch on Product Hunt is quite important. Product Hunt's timezone is San Francisco (PST timezone) and its ranking resets at midnight. That means you will need to launch at 00:00:01 or not much later. If you submit at 9pm PST when there's 3 hours left to vote, Product Hunt will take that into account somehow with their vote algorithm, but it still simply puts you at a disadvantage. Most people know by now to launch at midnight PST, so you won't be the only ones up there then"
