Mallorca Tech Newsletter (Acquired)
Weekly digest with news, events and job opportunities
Ditched the old format (sending Spanish and English versions) to make things easier even thought it meant potentially losing a part of the audience–it didn't.
Main growth channel to hit this milestone it's still been Twitter, so replicated the same strategy on Linkedin–post a quick newsletter breakdown with mentions to every person and company featured..

I thought it would be easier to get here, but finally, Mallorca Tech Newsletter just passed 200 subscribers! This is the result of engaging with Meetup leaders to promote their events and Twitter activity; I like to break down the newsletter content in several tweets and publish them during the week, trying to mention everyone that was featured in the newsletter.

I barely promoted it, but I knew I had to start someday. In order to grow people need to actually see it. So that's what I did. I put all the work and sent it so 11 people could read it.
And you know what? It actually worked. People liked it and started recommending it organically.

All I needed was an account on Mailchimp, Bitly and Twitter.
Thanks to Mailchimp I was able to build a very basic landing page and the subscriber list.
See the link, that all I needed!
Used Bitly to create a friendlier url.
And a Twitter account to start promoting it. Started following users that were actually relevant to my niche and reachable, ideally less than 1,000. People that could pay attention to their notifications, see my interactions and maybe follow me back. We'll go after the ones with more followers in the future, once we have some social proof.

About
I wanted to create an easy way to consume the relevant information of my city’s tech and startup scene. It serves me now as a way to connect with innovators and entrepreneurs, which has been its most valuable outcome
