Manifesto writing course

Shake things up and change the world!

January 12, 2021 And... we've launched!

Today we launched our Manifesto! course. We have a small email list (about 70 people) and a healthy social media following (750 on Facebook, 1000 on Twitter), plus a few other channels where we pushed out announcements.

And the exciting thing is that within 10 minutes of our email going out, we got our first sale.

We've got social media posts scheduled for the rest of the week, and we're planning for a big push to get a bunch of sign-ups early on. We've also set up a coupon code (MANIFEST-OH) to encourage early signups, offering $10 off (making the price $35).

January 10, 2021 Landing page all set to go...

We're launching officially on Tuesday, although the course is technically now live. So we're spending our Sunday planning our social media strategy (Twitter / FB / LinkedIn). But in the mean-time, our landing page is now live.

January 6, 2021 Ready for launch

We spent 2020 setting up a course platform / LMS, settling eventually on Podia (courses.windandbones.com). Then towards the end of the year, we spent a lot of time writing and editing content.

The course is through self-study, and is text-based with a series of beautiful PDF course booklets (we were keen for them to be beautiful), as well as a series of introductory videos and other supporting materials.

Editing the text, recording the videos and getting our tech stack sorted took longer than anticipated. But by the first week of January 2021, we've got everything almost ready to go.

We've made the course live on the website (courses.windandbones.com/manifesto), but we're having a few final run-throughs before we start to promote it to customers (and that placeholder linked image below needs sorting out as well!)

August 2020 Came up with the idea!

I co-direct a small social enterprise called Wind&Bones, registered in the UK. Both me and my fellow director, Hannah Stevens, are writers with years of experience teaching writing in universities and in community settings, and we're interested in writing, creativity and social change.

We'd taught manifesto writing in various places around the world from around 2019, including in Myanmar and in Bulgaria, and we'd also worked with both big international NGOs such as Greenpeace and smaller grassroots organizations; but in 2020, unable to deliver the course face-to-face, we decided to take the course online.
